Grilled Cheese with Apple and Bacon

With contrasting flavors, this sandwich makes the mouth sing!

PREP — 3 Minutes    COOK — 20-30 Minutes   

TOTAL — 33 Minutes  SERVINGS — Four

ingredients

• 3 tbsp Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Cooking Sauce

• Dijon Mustard (or Tangy Mustard BBQ Sauce)

• 8 slices of country bread (or sourdough)

• 8 slices sharp cheddar cheese

• 8 strips of bacon

• 1 granny smith apple, sliced thin (or honey crisp)

• Butter

directions

1.  Cook bacon on stove top in a skillet.

2.  Add 3 tbsp of Sweet Heat Cooking Sauce to coat bacon toward the last few minutes of cooking. If cooking bacon in an oven instead, baste on sauce with a brush.

3.  Spread dijon mustard on 4 slices of bread.

4.  Top each piece of bread with 2 slices of cheese, 2 slices of bacon and slices of apple. Top with the other slices of bread.

5.  Butter the sandwiches, then cook in a skillet (you can use the same one you cooked the bacon in, just drain the grease first) over medium-low heat until the cheese melts and the bread is golden, about 3 minutes per side.

Sweet Potato Hash

180 Calories, 10g of Protein, 100% Deliciously Awesome

ingredients

• 3 Celery Sticks

• 1 Yellow Pepper

• 1 White Onion

• 1 Large Sweet Potato

• 2 Sweetwood Smokehouse Original Turkey Fatty Stick

• 2 tbsp Olive Oil

• 1 Jalapeño

• 1 bunch Cilantro

 

Schultz’s Sauce:

• 2 tbsp Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Sauce

• 6 oz. Plain Yogurt

 

directions

1.  Dice pepper, onion, celery and turkey fattys. Heat olive oil in a pan over high-heat. We always prefer using a well seasoned cast iron pan. Add pepper, onion and celery and sauté for 5-6 minutes. Add turkey fattys and cook for an additional 5 minutes or until the turkey starts to brown.

2.  Reduce heat to medium. Add diced Sweet Potatoes and 1/2 cup of water to the pan, season with salt and pepper. Cover and let cook for 10 minutes or until the sweet potatoes are soft.

3.  Mix Schultz’s sauce and plain yogurt together. Add more sauce to strengthen the flavor based on your preference.

4.  Once the hash has cooked and the potatoes are done, garnish with sauce, cilantro and jalapeño. Enjoy!

SWEET HEAT COCONUT SHRIMP

Crispy, coconut-y, and OH SO delicious. Sweet Heat Coconut Shrimp are a crispy and fresh seafood option the whole family will love.

PREP — 25 Minutes    COOK — 20 Minutes    

TOTAL —45 Minutes  SERVINGS — Six

ingredients

• 5 large shrimp

• 1 Egg White

• 4 tbsp Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce

•½ Cup shredded coconut

• ¼ Cup Flour

directions

1.  Preheat oven to 325°F

2.  Remove skin from shrimp. Leave tails attached.

3.  Butterfly shrimp half way then dust with flour.

4.  Mix egg white and Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce and beat thoroughly.

5. Dip shrimp into hot sauce mixture without dipping the tails then dip into coconut.

6. Refrigerate for a minimum of 15 minutes.

7. Place shrimp on baking sheet with parchment paper and bake for 10 min then flip shrimp.

8. Bake for 10 more minutes until tender and golden brown.

9. Serve with warm Sweet Heat on the side to dip.

Bacon Wrapped Shrimp

BACON WRAPPED SHRIMP

This surf and turf combo is sweet, spicy, and absolutely irresistible. 

PREP — 40 minutes    COOK — 20 Minutes    

TOTAL —1 Hour  SERVINGS — Six

ingredients

• 2 lbs. of 21-25 count peeled shrimp

•  1 lb. of fresh cut Bacon

•  6 oz. of Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce

•  2 cups of rice (optional)

directions

1. Take peeled and deveined shrimp and wrap with half strip of bacon and weave onto skewer. Place 5-7 shrimps per skewer.

2. Place shrimp/bacon skewers over indirect heat. (Gas grill: low heat OR charcoal grill: place away from charcoal).

3. Allow bacon to render tightly around shrimp.

4.  Once shrimp is almost fully cooked; brush Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce on top of each skewer then close the lid to the grill for the last few minutes of cooking.

5. When fully cooked, remove shrimp from skewers and place on a bed of rice and pour 2-3 tbsp. of warm Sweet Heat on top of dish and serve.

6. Enjoy!

SWEET HEAT SALMON BAGEL

Start your morning with this spicy take on a classic lox bagel. The cool creamy cream cheese is PERFECT with our Sweet Heat sauce.  

PREP — 30 minutes    COOK — N/A

ingredients

• 3 tbsp. Plain Cream Cheese

•  1 tbsp. Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce

•  2 oz. Smoked/Cured Nova Lox Salmon

•  4 slices Red Onion

•  1 tbsp. Capers

•  1 bagel (halved)

directions

1. Mix together Cream Cheese and Sweet Heat Hot Sauce in a small mixing bowl.

2. Toast bagel to desired finish

3. Spread Sweet Heat Cream Cheese mixture on top of bagel halves.

4.  Place capers on top of the Sweet Heat Cream Cheese

5. Place onion slices on top next (2 slices per bagel half).

6. Place 1oz of smoked salmon on each bagel half.

7. Enjoy!

SWEET HEAT GLAZED SALMON

You’ll think you’ve died and gone to heaven when you taste this succulent, sweet, and spicy salmon dish. 

PREP — 5 Minutes    COOK — 10 Minutes    TOTAL —15 Minutes  SERVINGS — Six

ingredients

•  1.5-2 lb Salmon Filet or Steaks

•  3-4 Tbsp Schultz’s Sweet Heat Cooking Hot Sauce

•  2 Tbsp Schultz’s Gourmet Premium Seasoning and Rub

directions

1. Season salmon with Schultz’s Premium Seasoning & Rub

2. Place salmon on the grill indirectly over high heat. 

3. Cook 3-5 minutes each side (depending on thickness).

4. When the flakes of salmon begin to spread (a few minutes before it’s finished) brush Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Cooking Hot Sauce on top of the salmon and close the lid of the grill. 

5. Allow the Sweet Heat to caramelize slightly on the grill. It will begin to glaze over the filet. 

6. Place on platter and drizzle remaining Sweet Heat over the fish. Serve with wild rice, asparagus, bread or salad. 

7. Enjoy!

Rocky Mountain Pulled Pork

ROCKY MOUNTAIN PULLED PORK

We like to call this The World’s Greatest Sandwich. The meat is tender, juicy, and messy..the way a pulled pork sandwich should be!

PREP — 5 Minutes    COOK — 4.5-5 Hours    TOTAL —5 Hours  SERVINGS — Six

ingredients

•  3lb Pork Shoulder (Pork Butt)

•  1/4 Cup Schultz’s Gourmet Premium Seasoning & Rub

•  14oz Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce

•  Cilantro Lime Coleslaw 

directions

1. Preheat oven to 330 ºF

2. Apply Schultz’s Gourmet Premium Seasoning & Rub liberally to the pork shoulder.

3. Wrap tightly in heavy duty aluminum foil twice keeping the folds on top.

4. Place in oven at 330 ºF for 3.5 – 4 hours (or slow cook in a smoker/grill)

5. Carefully remove and drain juices into a grease separator for later use.

6. Allow meat to rest for 30 minutes.

7. Trim and discard fat.

8. Using two forks or hands, begin shredding the meat and put into a 2” deep baking dish that can go back into the oven.

9. Once all meat has been shredded or pulled apart apply 14 oz. of Schultz’s Gourmet Sweet Heat Hot Sauce and mix thoroughly.

10. Take the separated juices from the meat and stir and add to meat and hot sauce.

11. Place back into oven at 250 °F stirring well while reheating.

12. Serve on hearty buns as a sandwich with Cilantro Lime Coleslaw.
